VFX business etiquette question?

1st, thanks for the tips and advice in the past. I'm the only VFX guy at growing NYC post house. I started here 5 years ago with little to no VFX knowledge and now where offering my work as billable time to clients american school of protocol. That's cool. But when the shot is outside of my knowledge/ability, we send it to a dedicated VFX house.
