Welding question

I’m going to build a single pole mount using rigid metal conduit 4” base, a cap fixture, and 2” cross member. I’ll have double strut on the cross member held in place with U-bolts. I’d like to tack weld or braze the U bolts in place to prevent the strut from rotating except in union with the 2” pipe. Can I weld or braze hot dipped galvanized welding atlanta? I know it‘s not great health wise, but I just need a little tack to hold the U bolt in place.
